MORE than £2,000 is expected to have been raised for MacMillan Nurses thanks to golfers chipping in at the annual Tavistock Rotary charity golf day on May 23. The winning team came from one of the sponsors, Mumfords of Plymouth, and second was another team from the motor industry, B S and J S Williams of Tavistock. The prize for the best ladies? team went to the Wakeham Ladies. The best men?s score was won by Neil Higson, who played with a team of local architects. Rama Nand-lal, the president of Tavistock Rotary Club, said: The Rotary Club has invited the main sponsor, the Lake Pharmacy, to make the presentation to the charity at an evening meeting. We would like to thank all those who took part - club members, competitors, sponsors and Tavistock Golf Club. As one competitor said as he left the club house it was ?a super day?s golf and all for a good cause.?
