A WEST Devon dental practice is celebrating after becoming a gold member of a prestigious dental association.

Abbey Mead Dental Practice and Implant Centre in Tavistock, is now a gold member of the British Dental Association's 'Good Practice Scheme'. This can only be achieved by maintaining and subscribing to the best practices which are set out by the BDA and by sustaining this for ten years.

The BDA Good Practice Scheme is a quality assurance programme for UK dental practices. By becoming members of the scheme, practices demonstrate a visible commitment to providing quality dental care to nationally recognised standards.

Abbey Mead was one of the first dental practices in the country to be admitted to the Good Practice Scheme back in 2002 and is now one of the first enrolled as a gold member.

Dr Ann Cummins, owner of Abbey Mead, said: 'This success can only be achieved with commitment from a good dental team. The team we have now is the best yet.'
