TOR Cottage, Chillaton, has won a gold award from South West Tourism for outstanding excellence.

The gold award has been introduced this year to recognise top-class service and quality.

Tor Cottage is run by Maureen Rowlatt and is a previous national winner of the England for Excellence awards run by South West Tourism and the English Tourism Council.

It is included in South West Tourism's guide Hotels and Guesthouses Accommodation and on its website http://www.westcountrynow.com">www.westcountrynow.com. It also has a website of its own, http://www.torcottage.co.uk">www.torcottage.co.uk.

It has four rooms and a heated pool. South West Tourism's media relations manager Karen Martin said: 'It is small, but a bit like a luxury hotel.'
