PENTILLIE Castle and Estate in St Mellion has won gold in the prestigious Cornwall Tourism Awards.

The castle triumphed in the Bed and Breakfast and Guest Accommodation of the Year category of the awards recently. The Expowest Cornwall-sponsored category recognises B and Bs, farmhouses, inns, restaurants with rooms and guest houses offering ' a high standard of accommodation'.

Pentillie's managing director Sammie Coryton said: 'We are thrilled.'
