Leander League Girls U16s Looe 1 Tavistock Girls 9 TAVISTOCK started with a strong attacking game and despite a long lay off played well as a team. Tavistock scored an early goal through Davey and used the downhill slope with a wind behind them well. Davies, running down the right wing, found the back of the net twice. Tavistock settled to play good passing football which paid off when Bassett, McMullin and again Davey scored to make it 6-0 at half-time. The second half saw Tavistock playing against the wind and uphill, but still attacking. However, a quick ball from Looe's keeper kicked far down the pitch caught Tavistock's back line out and Looe managed to net one past Maguire. Shortly after, a nasty bouncing ball went past Maguire but her cat-like reactions saved it from crossing the line. Showing the quality keeper she is her quick thinking set up a counter attack and sent the ball to McMullin to set Davey up for her hat-trick. A further goal from Nicholson finished Looe off and McMullin showing her usual all round fitness and 'never stop running attitude' scored her second. Player of the match: Becky McMullin.
