Saltash Youth 1
Tavistock Thistles 7
SALTASH went ahead a few minutes into the game. Thistles? defence of Jack Quinn, Cadan Lowther, Bob Finbow and Tom Simmons pulled together to prevent further incursions and to give attackers of Pridham and Taylor McCormack something to work from.
Within a few minutes Quinn responded with the equaliser, swiftly followed by Ben Langton?s first goal of the match.
Half-time saw Thistles just ahead with goalkeeper Phillip Snell having had little to do.
The second half started with the midfield of Niall Murphy, Joshua Leeson and Ben White creating numerous chances, the first of which was taken by Ben Pridham, scoring his 20th goal this season. Not to be outdone, McCormack took the next opportunity to score his 20th goal then completed a hat-trick with two further goals.
Ian Harvey, James Northey and Ross Seward came on as substitutes and helped the continuing push forward. Langton added his name again to the scoresheet to give a well deserved victory to the Thistles.
l On Saturday Thistles were away to an under strength, but resilient Efford Youth. Efford who have competed all season but have yet to win a game, found the Thistles attack too much to cope with.
Man of the match Taylor McCormack grabbed himself six goals together with five from Ben Langton, three from Joshua Leeson and one from Niall Murphy. James Northey proved himself a worthy second goalkeeper by keeping a clean sheet in the second half.
The final score was Efford Youth 0, Tavistock Thistles 15.
