ST MARY'S Church at Exbourne raised more than £1,300 by hosting the Northmoor Team Flower Festival recently.

The title was 'Glorious Devon' and the displays were described as 'truly amazing' by visitors. A community fete was also held in the school grounds and the children had displays of the school in times gone by.

There was entertainment by 'The United Gospel Choir', country dancing and the church's own juke box choir, a cream tea and a united Northmoor Team choral evensong with the Bishop of Crediton, the Rt Rev Nick McKinnel.

Thanks have been expressed to all those who contributed to the event's success, including the school, the tea ladies and Gill Lloyd.
