A TAVISTOCK couple celebrated 50 years of happy marriage with a blessing at St Eustachius Church and a party at the Bedford Hotel.
Jerry and Jean Harden were joined by friends and family from far flung corners of the globe, who travelled thousands of miles to enjoy their big day which was on Friday.
Their son flew over from Japan with his wife and son, their eldest daughter made the trip from Denver, Colorado, accompanied by husband and two children and their other daughter came down from Hampshire.
Jean said: ?We had a fantastic time and it was absolutely brilliant to see our family again.?
Jean, who was born in Tavistock in 1935, married Jerry, from Liskeard, in 1953.
They owned and ran ?The Bookcase? in King Street for more than 20 years, and are now enjoying a retirement spent largely on the golf course.
