TAVISTOCK Swimming Club welcomed back three of its former club captains to present medals at the annual presentation evening at the Royal British Legion on Friday.

Katherine Searle, Laura Smith and Ollie White have all continued with their swimming, either competitively or in a teaching role.

Chairman Debbie Mills also welcomed club president John Read, vice-president Sue Dunstan and thanked the committee for all its hard work over the year.

Lorraine Kelly, retiring treasurer, was presented with a bouquet.

Head coach Paul Chinn also thanked the committee for its continued support and hard work and spoke of a successful year with many members achieving Devon County qualifying times and some Western County qualifying times.

Although the number of entries for the championships had been reasonably high, he hoped many more swimmers, especially the non-squad swimmers, would enter next year.

Paul announced Richard Freedman to continue as the boys? club captain and Alison Kelly as the girls? club captain with Chris Ralph and Amy Warnett as vice-captains.

Retiring girls? captain, Philippa Smith, was presented with a shield on behalf of the club. Both Paul and assistant coach Rachael Warnett were presented with a gift in appreciation of their efforts over the past year.
