Ocean league U12s Activate United 2 Tavistock Girls 4 THIS was a clash of the two top teams and decided who was going or staying top of the league. Stand in manager Adrian Rockey played a new attacking formation with Hammond sole striker. Activate were the first to settle with some good positive attacks. A well struck shot left Foster no chance and Tavistock saw themselves behind. Tavistock pulled one back when Rose crossed in to Hammond who chested the ball into the net. Shortly before half time Rose sent in a fast ball from a corner kick to be met by Gale who controlled it and turned to fire into the net. The second half saw Tavistock play some excellent passing football and kept the ball in Activate?s half. Another corner kick from Rose saw a hand ball in the penalty area and Rose blasted in from the spot. Great work from Glasspoole who never stopped running saw an excellent through ball meet the feet of Rose who turned a defender and shot low into the net. Against the run of play Activate pulled one back with a soft goal but Tavistock held out to stay top of the league. Player of the match went to Rebekah Rose. Vivid A league Under 14s Tavistock Girls 8 Looe 0 DESPITE losing two key players the girls played with great determination to stay second place in the league. Captain Chloe Bassett led by example and played all over the pitch opening up the lead for her team. Honey was allowed out of goal with Barratt and Bryant sharing the goal keeper position. Amy Campbell worked hard down the right wing and her crosses were crucial in breaking through Looe?s defence. McMullin battled hard to get on the score sheet and Honey also got her eye for goal, both scoring before half time. Joy Page was the rock in defence and kept the ball upfield. The second half saw lovely goals from Honey who intercepted a cross to flick the ball into the net and McMullin who hit the ball from a distance straight into the top of the net with a left foot lob. Honey scored two more and McMullin finished off with another excellent goal. A fine team performance. Player of the match went to Rebecca McMullin. Under 14s need players to strengthen their team.
