In less than five minutes a goalmouth scramble saw Hammond shoot goal-bound and a deflection saw the back of the net. Rose once again commanded midfield and set Hammond up for her second. Before half time Hammond saw the ball hit the underneath of the bar and go in. Every team member rolled on and off and Eales was fast on the left win crossing in to Rose to shoot home. Bassett slotted in confidently at right back and the girls relaxed and enjoyed the standard of football they now know they can play. Activate were always looking for the goal which nearly came when a long shot dipped goal-bound, but Foster pushed it easily aside.
