Tavistock U18s Girls 37 Exeter Saracens U18s Girls 60 Tavistock were a player down all game and appeared to be asleep for the opening 10 minutes and promptly found themselves two tries down. But Tavistock stirred and put together some excellent phases of pick-and-go close quarters rugby to drive over the Exeter line through Nielson. The game really began to heat up, with Exeter leading five tries to one. Tavistock were again able to peg back another score, after Neilson again, broke away down the blindside and made two strong hand offs before diving into the corner. Tavistock then made some excellent forays into the Exeter 22 through McGechie and Lane. However, sustained pressure on the Exeter five metre line led to Kemish squeezing through a gap in the defence to score. Just before the half time whistle Exeter scored a breakaway try, to go into the break three tries ahead. The second half brought some heavy scoring for both teams, with Exeter drawing first blood. Tavistock responded by severely increasing the tempo. Exeter girls were being smashed back in the tackles. Tavistock upped their game and some excellent interplay by props Lane and Conn led to a firm base for hooker Nielson to break through a tackle at the fringe of a ruck and score her third of the game. Exeter again scored two quick tries. However, Tavistock responded with a try through Daymond after some excellent hustling in defence by fly half Hair. Before the end of the game Tavistock were able to score again through Kemish.
