Ocean League U12s Lipson Colts 0 Tavistock Girls 11 TAVISTOCK showed why they are top of the league and cup winners with a terrific display of passing and ball control. Gordon struck early to get Tavistock into the lead. Great work from Glasspoole and Gale fed Rose, who finished superbly. Bassett played well at the back but had to go off feeling unwell. Eales went on at left wing and her speed cut through the Lipson defence. Lipson never gave up and when Tavistock started to push up they broke through and it took a fine save from Foster to keep the ball out. Tavistock were caught napping just before half-time and Foster again made an excellent save. Shaw joined the defence and picked off every challenge. Rose scored an a screamer with one-touch football from her teammates. Eales also scored an excellent left foot shot and Gale struck home from 20 yards out. Vivid A League U14s Lipson Colts 2 Tavistock Girls 7 TAVISTOCK had already secured runners-up slot and started the match with that in mind. Captain Chloe Bassett chased everything and scored to put her team ahead. Lipson battled and despite Tavistock defending well they did not get their passing sorted out and started to lose their shape. New signing Kirsty McCall made some terrific saves in goal and Tavistock went in at half-time 1-0 up. In the second half, Lipson struck back with a terrific hard corner shot that left McCall with no chance. Tavistock?s Campbell and McMullin fought for everything but a breakaway goal from Lipson put them ahead. This was a wake up call for Tavistock and a screamer from Barratt put them level. Bryant got on the attack and set Payne up for a smashing shot into the net. Honey worked hard on the wing and crossed to McMullin who coolly tapped home. Lipson fought back and a free kick saw the ball come off Bassett?s head but McCall caught well. Honey made a terrific run and smashed the ball into the net. Payne scored again with another fine shot and Bryant finished Lipson off with a right foot lob into the net.
