THE FIRST meeting of the Devon Women in Rural Enterprise (WiRE) Networking Group will take place on April 5 from 10am to noon at Lifton Farm Shop, Lifton.

There will be a chance to get to know others and to help to plan the future format for meetings, visits and workshops.  There is no charge for the meeting except the cost of refreshments.

The group will be run by Chris Heron of 'Time Well Spent' which provides virtual PA and administration support services to small businesses. Chris has been a personal assistant, administrator and secretary for more than 25 years.

She said 'Networking with like-minded business women is really positive and effective. WiRE has set up WiRE local network groups for female entrepreneurs all over the UK.  I am really looking forward to being part of this group and celebrating the diverse range of rural businesses we have in the area. The network will also be able to support new and fledgling businesses.'

WiRE members can attend, to grow their business, gain confidence and meet people in the same boat.  Non WiRE members can attend twice as a non-member, after which they will need to join WiRE.

WiRE is a national organisation, with more than 2,000 members, which helps women in rural areas either to start up or expand a business.
