THE ?Big Draw? will be returning to Tavistock this weekend, to encourage people to pick up a pencil and draw a picture. The day?s events will see experts providing hints and tips on drawing, and free materials will be provided, to allow everyone to have a go. The Big Draw 2005, which has been organised by West Devon artist Jennie Hale, is in support of the Drawing Power campaign, helping to promote drawing skills for everyone. At the end of the day a selection of drawings will be chosen for a display in Tavistock Museum throughout October. Jennie will be joined by artists Pat Bates, Brian Johnson, Nick Collier, Mary Gillett, Rita Smith, Bob Mountjoy and Sally O?Neil, who have taken tools and machinery as their theme to get the public inspired. Jennie will be bringing her ?Workshop Under the Sky?, based in a ?yurt?, a type of marquee, and a 1913 steamroller loaned by the Robey Trust will provide a focal point on Bedford Square. There will also be mining and farming tools and machinery on display, loaned by Tavistock Museum. The event will be taking place on Saturday, October 1 between 10am and 4pm, with everyone welcome to drop by and have a go.
