THERE's an opportunity to join countryside specialists at Kit Hill this week to find out exactly what can be eaten in the wild and how to poot, dip and sweep ponds for small bugs life marvels. Cornwall County Council's countryside rangers have organised an array of events for everyone to take part in to discover the wonders of this area of outstanding natural beauty. Join Martin Summers and the countryside team for a guided walk around Kit Hill tomorrow (Friday), discovering and sampling a vast array of wild food in the countryside. The walk takes place from 7pm to 10pm approximately, meet at Kit Hill's incline car park (grid ref SX 374 723). Wear waterproofs and stout footwear. The event costs £2 for adults, £1.50 for concessions or £6 for a family. And on Tuesday May 27 at Kit Hill Country Park there's an opportunity to go on a mini beast safari and try pond dipping. The event is from 2pm to 4pm — meet at Kit Hill summer park (grid ref SX 37519 71365). The event is free — children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
