A CHARITY which gives Romanian orphans the chance of a better life by placing them in loving, family homes, received a boost last week, thanks to the generosity of people in Tavistock.

Tom Davies, director of the charity Liberis, took to the streets on Easter Saturday and collected a splendid £102.81.

Liberis, which was based in Tavistock before moving to Oxford, aims to take children out of Romanian orphanages and place them in family environments.

Tom raised the money during a visit to his parents in Whitchurch. Anyone wishing to donate to Liberis can do so by phoning the charity on 01865 554984.
