ONCE again a big thank you to all who have supported the Margaret Green Rescue Centre stall in Tavistock market on a Friday.
In times of recession, when money is tight, people do not give so much to charities. But Tavistock residents and others from outside our area have been really generous in 2010 and have given as much as they can afford.
Not only have they put donations in the collecting tin, but have also bought books and home-made cards which I have been able to sell. For the whole of 2010 the total balance was £465.88 made up of the following: book sale £200; sale of cards £165; collection box £100.88.
All the animals at the rescue centre at Brentor are truly grateful. As the money goes to help with their care while waiting to be re-homed, also, towards the refurbishment of the cattery.
I am again having a book sale in Tavistock market on a Friday and any book donations will be gratefully received.
There are lots of cats and dogs at Wingletang at Brentor waiting to be re-homed, so if you are thinking of having a new cat or dog, please come along and see if you could give a new home to one of the animals at the centre. For further information please ring: 01822 810215. Thank you.
