MAY I, through your paper, express my grateful thanks to all who contributed towards the £811.78 collected for the Army Benevolent Fund on Friday August 27: the very generous givers, the willing and cheerful helpers and, not least, your newspaper for its support.

With your help and that of like-minded supporters in the country, the Army Benevolent Fund is able to alleviate distress in the ex-army population to the tune of some £7.5-million each year.
