TEN gardens in and around Halwill Junction opened their gates to visitors in ideal weather as part of the second Halwill Open Gardens event.
There were five new gardens this year, which meant every type, from a 'courtyard' garden, which had to be seen to believe just how much produce and colour can be fitted into a small area, to a large garden, which included a lake with an island reached by a bridge, were on show.
The exercise and fresh air gave visitors an appetite for home-made cakes and cream teas on offer at the Winsford Centre. There were also a selection of stalls and a raffle.
All proceeds from the day were in aid of the Winsford Trust. If you would like to know more about this charity, with a view to becoming a volunteer, or a member of the twice weekly luncheon club, contact Daniella Coughlin on 01409 221470.
The Winsford Trust expressed thanks to all ten garden owners for their generosity in offering to open their gardens.
