IT was the icing on the cake for Robin Start when he was introduced to the Queen at a royal garden party at Buckingham Palace last week.

Robin and his wife Pamela from the Ford Street and Maynard Almshouse Charity in Tavistock were invited to the event by the Lord Chamberlain along with clerk to the charity, Clifford Alford, and warden Margaret Alford.

'We were lucky enough to be selected from the thousands there to be presented to the Queen who we had quite a chat to about the charity,' said Mr Start.
