THE Garden House has launched a Friends scheme designed to delight and draw people to this eight-acre independent attraction. Founder Friends of the Garden House were welcomed to an inaugural meeting on Friday by Chris Brickell, former director general of the Royal Horticultural Society, and Sir Robin Nicholson, chairman of the Fortescue Garden Trust. The Garden House, near Buckland Monachorum, which recently featured on BBC Gardeners? World, is world-renowned for its historic walled garden and its pioneering naturalistic plantings, which are beautiful every month of the year. The Friends of The Garden House scheme was launched to bring together all those who already know and love the garden and to share the news with others who might be interested. President of the Friends scheme is Chris Brickell, one of the most distinguished horticulturalists of his generation. Friends of the Garden House will be able to visit the garden throughout the season, enjoy special activities and have a say in its future development.
