Tavistock RFC U14 17 Plymouth Argum 17 DETERMINED Tavistock tackling and a scrambled touchline clearance prevented an Argum score as their big forwards took early control. From a lineout Argum moved the ball along the threequarter line and their centre scored. Within five minutes Argum doubled their score. Slowly Tavistock began to compete in the forward exchanges, but the half ended with the visitors once again on the back foot in their own 22, losing 10pts to nil. The second half began in complete contrast to the first. Early pressure led to mistakes by Argum who conceded two quick penalties as the Tavistock forwards drove into them. James Lockley picked up from the base of a scrum and crashed over for Tavistock?s opening try, Rufus Gould converting making the score 10-7. From the re-start Tavistock attacked again. Dan Oner drove over from 10 metres to put Tavistock ahead 10-12. Two minutes later James Lockley broke wide from loose play and was driven over the line by supporting threequarters to make the score 10-17. Tavistock continued to press but allowed Argum back into the game, scoring under the posts with a try converted to make the score 17-17. An honourable draw played in excellent spirit by both teams.
