RHS GARDEN Rosemoor in Great Torrington has a packed programme for family days out this Easter. Rosemoor has something for everyone to enjoy, from the stunning gardens to the woodland walks, a range of children's trails and lots of exciting activities for the whole family. This Easter, there will be even more colour on display at Rosemoor, with an incredible 70,000 bulbs having been planted last autumn, mainly in the more informal, meadow areas of the garden. The new bulbs are mainly daffodils, and include Narcissus 'Little Witch', Narcissus recurvus, Narcissus 'Lark Whistle', Narcissus actaeus and Crocus tommasinianus. For art lovers there is the Great British Landscape Art Exhibition between March 15 and March 30, with works by some of the best contemporary British landscape artists today. The works, in oil, watercolour, mixed media, print or needlework, have been brought together from all over the UK and show a wide range of styles from the realistic to the impressionist — each artist interpreting the landscape in his or her own way. Meanwhile, children can get digging and discovering at a free young gardeners' weekend on March 22 to 24, which will include hands-on gardening workshops to teach them how to plant a variety of different flowers and vegetables, children's trails and other gardening activities.
