A FUN Tournament took place at Tavistock Tennis Club on Saturday in aid of Children's Hospice South West.
This mixed tournament was instigated by Mike Blagrove in memory of his wife, June, and was organised this year by John White.
The contestants all played each other until the final, which was won by Bernard Mowle and Sue Parsons 6-4. The runners up were Ray Hinton and Alice Anstee, who put up a valiant fight. The Hospice Cup was presented to the winners by the club's treasurer, Rod Watson.
The summer season starts in April under the new chairmanship of Gareth George. His predecessor Mike Prout has retired after five years but is staying on the committee as social secretary.
John White, Mike and Vivienne Iles have also retired and were thanked by the chairman at the annual meeting for their valued contribution to the club.
New junior and senior members are always welcome to join. This includes beginners, who can join our resident coach for group or individual lessons.
