OVER the Easter holidays, West Devon Borough Council, in partnership with High Moorland Community Action and Okehampton Community Recreation Association, will be offering exciting free play activities in some of the borough's more rural locations.

As part of the Really Playing in West Devon Big Lottery Fund project, youngsters in Princetown, Bridestowe and South Zeal will have the opportunity to take part in a host of play activities.

Making animals out of socks, mountain biking, magical marionette making, archery, caving, navigation and moorland exploration are just some of things taking place in the Princetown area, while play schemes in Bridestowe and South Zeal will have a selection of creative and sporting activities to offer.

The Big Lottery Fund award of £200,000 enables Really Playing in West Devon to offer the numerous play activities planned for the summer term and the holidays.

Cllr Mandy Govier, one of West Devon's youth champions, said: 'This project is a fantastic opportunity for the children of the Borough to have all sorts of additional play activities in their own communities.'
