ORDULPH Taverners Cricket team, who play in the Tamar League, held its 2006 awards evening with a buffet at the Ordulph Arms recently. The highlights included a talk from player Doc Finnigan on the virtues of ?patient? batting, which was well received by his fellow team-mates. The awards were presented by Jason Hooper, director of the team sponsors Fulfords. Winners: Lawrence Evans (most runs); Josh Sutton (best batting average); Johnny Lethbridge (most wickets); Jude Rotton (all rounder); Dave Hodges (players? player). Other club ?prizes? went to Phil Mansfield (bowling); Neil Folley (bowling); Dan Evans (fielding); Matt Mills (looks), Darren Chappell (sledging), Dave Statton (grey power), Gary Hutchins (newcomer), and Caroline Poppe (first lady player). After the presentations the club enjoyed musical entertainment from classic rock cover band Rusty Nail.
