THERE were smiles all round in Callington on Saturday, as the town's lion's club staged a hugely successful fun day in the town's recreation ground.

Eight teams took part in a popular It's a Knockout-style competition, enjoying a variety of challenges which ultimately saw The Football Club emerge victorious. They were presented with winners' medals by Callington Portreeve Karen Gold.

President of Callington Lions Club, Sid Sharp, said: 'It was an absolutely brilliant day, very, very good indeed— I think everyone had a wonderful time.'

In addition to the competition, there were a variety of stalls and attractions at the fun day, which was opened by Neil Gallagher from BBC South West. Compere for the afternoon was former town portreeve Rick Lumley.
