THE Multi-use games area at Milton Abbot has been the place to be this summer. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 10-11am youngsters from Milton Abbot and surrounding areas have been taking part in free sports activities.

5x30 Devonwide provided the funding for multi-skills sessions on Tuesdays, mini-tennis sessions on Thursdays and a street dance workshop earlier last month. The weather was not always kind but much fun was had by the 20-30 boys and girls who attended.

The mini tennis was run by Gordon Hillborn, tennis coach who has coaching sessions in mini-tennis starting at Tavistock Community Sports Centre on 15 September. Gordon can be contacted on 01822 618329 and 07765 282334.

Mhairi McCall, 5x30 Community activator would also like to thank Marc Kerswill, Adam Tofield and Rob Eastman for making sure the multi-skills mornings ran smoothly. Event organiser, Ellie Carey and Rachel Thomson of Milton Abbot Community Group have been pleased with the success of the summer club and have declared their intention to hold another one next year.

Thanks are extended to the 5x30 Project for making these activities possible.
