MORE than 700 people turned out to enjoy free and fun activities at the 1Life festivals hosted at Parklands Okehampton and Meadowlands Tavistock leisure centres on June 7. The festivals saw people enjoy a wide range of fun activities including health checks, 'insanity' classes and access to Parkland's newly refurbished gym. The festivals showcased 1Life's commitment to promoting community engagement in activities through health and wellbeing, sport and activity, learning and the arts. Jon Smith, contract manager at the centres, said: 'It was fantastic to see so many people attending the festivals! 'The aim of the festival was to encourage members, and those who have never visited the centre, to come along and celebrate a healthier way of living. 'We put on a great range of activities for the community to take part in, and hopefully visitors enjoyed themselves and tried something they've never done before!
