Carlsberg South Western League

Launceston 3

Tavistock 3

THERE were three changes to the starting line up with Paul Adcock, Jeff Babb and Chris Gott coming in to replace John Gosling, Wayne Crow and Simon Parnell.

It was another good start for the Lambs with Babb heading onto the bar after eight minutes and Paul Smith doing likewise from a free kick almost immediately before Lee Doncaster set up Babb to shoot across keeper Rob Ablett.

The Lambs had the majority of the play for the remainder of the half and it was no surprise as they increased their lead ten minutes prior to the break when Doncaster?s cross was blocked for the ball to fall kindly for Mark Wall to volley home.

The Lambs could have sewn the game up just after but Babb?s first-time shot sailed the wrong side of the post when Doncaster laid the ball into his path.

The Clarets got themselves back into the game five minutes later when from a quick break out of defence Liam Tilley laid the ball into the path of Sean Turner to make no mistake from 12 yards.

The home side continued their fightback after the interval with Tilley going close before a through-ball allowed Turner to out- pace the Lambs defence to shoot past Andy Meeds.

They were not level for long with Doncaster crossing for Chris Gott to come ghosting in at the far post to head powerfully home to give the Lambs the lead again.

The drama continued with 15 minutes remaining as the home side drew level again. For the second week running it looked offside as Steve Oliver collected the ball to shoot at Meeds and despite the keeper?s save was helpless as the ball rebounded for him to head home.

The home side could well have snatched all three points at the death but Tilley shot wide and Meeds brought off a great save to deny Turner and allow the Lambs a share of the points.
