TAVISTOCK Carnival is fast approaching and the Friends of the Wharf are hoping some fun loving walkers will join them in their entry for this year?s procession.

The theme of the event is leisure pursuits and pastimes. The friends have about six people for their walking entry so far ? but they would love another six or so to join in the fun.

Friends committee member Mary Thompson said: ?Anyone who?s interested in the Wharf and in helping raise it?s profile is very welcome to come and join us. I?ve got quite a lot of costumes but if anyone has their own ideas or costumes, that?s fine too.?
