A CHEQUE of £15,000 was presented to Children's Hospice South West by the charity's Tavistock friends' group last week.

The money was raised by the friends over the last year by holding market stalls, quizzes, a grand dinner dance, cream teas and many more events.

The chairperson of the group Pat Coghill expressed thanks to her colleagues for helping to raise the money and to the people of Tavistock who generously gave to CHSW.

Mrs Coghill intends to lead the team into 2009 with more events. Anyone who would like to join the friends' group should call 01822 860166.
