MEMBERS of the Tavistock Friendship Group gathered together for a sing-a-long and tasty tea at their Christmas party last week.

The friendship group — formerly the Tavistock Area Disabled Fellowship — took part in carol singing before eating a delicious meal, being visited by Father Christmas and socialising at the party at the Alexander Centre.

The club is for older people who are disabled, which meets every month and and has two or three outings a year.

Group chairman Rosie Farrant said: 'We will be going to see the pantomime in January and we always use TASS or local drivers for our outings. We are a very friendly, happy group. We have been going for around 45 years and at the moment have around 30 members.'

The group invited the mayor Cllr Harry Smith to the event, who joined them for dinner and singing.
