OKEHAMPTON Friendly Circle held its annual meeting in the Charter Hall on Tuesday, July 6. It was opened by the chairman Mrs Squire who welcomed all members and the mayor, Cllr Morse.

In the absence of the treasurer the accounts were read by Mr Squire. The mayor took the chair and called for nominees for chairman, secretary and treasurer.

Mrs P Squire remains chairman, Mrs R Brown remains secretary and Mrs J Williams remains treasurer. The committee remains as before, with the addition of Mrs S Cousin and Mrs V Harvey. The mayor was thanked by Mrs Squire.

After bingo, refreshments were served, and a draw held.

The next meeting will be on August 3, and will be a talk by June Redfern on International Aid Trust.
