Foxhole 2 Bere Alston 2 HAVING already scored 19 goals in their first two friendlies, Bere?s biggest test yet was in the form of former East Cornwall Permier League champions Foxhole, who have already beaten St Austell and Newquay from the South Western League. The game started at a cracking pace, with Bere?s Westlake and Blatchford both going close. Griffin brought off a fine save from Howells. Good work from Reid Hallet found Blatchford. His cross was met by Hann who calmly finished from ten yards. Ten minutes before half time two mistakes allowed Foxhole back into the game and grab a 2-1 lead at half time. The second period was a different matter as Bere pressed at every opportunity with Howell being a virtual spectator. With 15 minutes of the half gone Westlake?s free kick found the top corner to level matters. Minutes later Hallet had a fine chance but his shot was right at the keeper. Manager Paul Blatchford said Bere played a side two leagues higher than them and for long periods looked the better.
