A FORMER portreeve of Callington, Rick Lumley, has been co-opted to the town council along with long-term town resident Suzan Tomlin.
Cllr Lumley is a former language teacher at Callington Community College, the outgoing president of the town's Rotary Club and member of the twinning association. He is also the instigator of the arts organisation Callington CAVe. He stood down from the town council at the elections in May due to many other commitments but is back again as one of the two members for the Kelly Bray ward.
Sue Tomlin used to teach computer skills to the older generation in Callington and due to recent circumstances now finds herself with time to give something back to the community. She has lived in the town for 40 years.
Cllr Lumley and Tomlin will join the other two new faces on the council: newsagent and firefighter Mark Smith and David Williams (UKIP) who runs an antique shop in Biscombe's Lane and is a keen historian.
