OKEHAMPTON Post Office will be closed for a short period next month while refurbishment is carried out to offer a better service to customers. Subpostmaster Allenton Fisher is planning a new look for the branch, in George Street. The Post Office will be closed from Wednesday, June 15 until it re-opens on Monday, June 19. Once refurbishment is completed, customers will benefit from a three-position open plan branch and a fourth counter position, with full Bureau de Change facilities. As well as the Post Office being refurbished the retail area will be refitted and will have a wider range of greeting cards, stationery and confectionery. During the closure period, arrangements have been made courtesy of the Belstone Village Hall committee to open a branch at Belstone during the following times: 9.30am to 4.30pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, June 14 to 16, to accommodate customers? needs. Customers will also be able to use North Tawton branch during the refurbishment period.
