THE evening service at Mount House School recently was addressed by Mark Turner, head of Abingdon School near Oxford. 

Mr Turner was headmaster of Kelly College before taking up his current post in 2002. He will take over as headmaster at Shrewsbury School in September.

He talked about the importance of developing self-confidence without arrogance, and used the examples of the Tower of Babel and the Burj Khalifa, Dubai's record breaking skyscraper, to illustrate the points.
