LADIES who fancy the idea of getting fit, learning new skills and enjoying a team game are being urged to come along and join Tavistock Ladies' Football Club.
The club, which plays in the Westward Development Devon Women's League, came runner-up in their division last year and are hoping to boost members to improve their results this year.
Aileen Ismail, team manager, said: 'We are basically trying to build the squad up. We are in our fourth season now and although we have got some of the younger girls coming through, we need to boost the numbers while we wait for the girls to be old enough to play.'
The team train on Tuesday and Wednesday between 7pm and 8pm in the Meadows — games are played on Sundays.
The club is affiliated to Tavistock Football Club and all home games are played at Langsford Park.
'You don't have to be super-fit and we will be concentrating on the fitness side on Tuesday evenings,' said Aileen.
The minimum age to play for the club is 14 — but there is no maximum age!
The club would like to hear from any prospective players and is especially looking for a new goalie. Anyone interested should contact Aileen Ismail on 01822 618148.
