AS chairman of the Tavistock Food Festival I would like to reply to the concerns expressed in last week?s Times by Mr Kirkpatrick. We recognise that the Food Festival will be taking up a number of valuable spaces during one of the busier summer weekends and, accordingly, will be liaising closely with West Devon Borough Council to ensure a minimum of inconvenience to visitors. We will be asking the Automobile Association to put up road signage before and during the festival, directing motorists to both the Bedford Car Park and the Riverside Car Park. The latter car park is generally under utilised and can replace many of the spaces lost. We are also considering the possibility of setting up a Park and Ride scheme should it be felt necessary.
