TAVISTOCK curate the Rev Joanna Abecassis is leaving to take up a new appointment as team vicar in the Totnes Team Ministry. At her final service last Sunday Joanna was presented with an ivory, gold and burgundy cope and stole from the parishes of St Eustachius, Tavistock and St Paul, Gulworthy. The cope was presented by churchwardens Lesley Morris and John Saxon. The younger children presented her with a special plate signed by many of the congregation. The service was followed by a buffet lunch in the Parish Centre. Joanna has been in Tavistock for four and a half years and will be licensed as vicar in the Totnes Team Ministry on March 20. Taking part in that service will be the previous vicar of Tavistock, the Ven John Rawlings, who is now Archdeacon of Totnes. Picture by James Bird
