THE Awareness Group in Okehampton, now celebrating its fifth year, will bring ancient wisdom to the town as part of its autumn programme launched this week.

The programme of talks and information begins tomorrow (Friday) with Tobias Kaye and his evening, entitled ?Sounding Bowls?. It looks at the space between words, which are as important as the space between musical notes, without which we would not have melodies.

Later this month sees Awareness Day and Jane Foster speaking about ?Chakra Energies?.

Jacci Jordan, press officer for the awareness group, said: ?Okehampton is lucky to have such a vibrant and interesting group which has brought more than 100 alternative specialists from many different fields to the Ockment Centre over the past five years.?

Jacci said the group found many people come to talks and workshops for a good few years, find a way of healthy living or a therapy that suits them, then go away and successfully incorporate that into their lives. This is followed by a number of new faces attending the talks and the pattern begins again.

Other highlights of the programme include Veronica Croft introducing ?Soul Freedom Process? and Colin Kingshott discussing ?Natural Organic Flower Essences? in October. November spawns the ?Ancient Wisdom of the Indigenous people of New Zealand ? Before the Maories?.

New members are welcome to come along. For further details call Angela or Valerie on 01837 54880 or 54215.
