GARDENERS in Buckland Monachorum may lose their annual flower show unless entries increase next year.
Now the show committee has taken 'a long, hard look' at the viability of the event.
Committee member Andrea Leverett said the show was organised by the village hall committee, not by a gardening club.
She said: 'We don't have a nucleus of gardening gurus. Sadly, Pete Hammond, one of the main growers who used to encourage people to enter, died just before this August's show.
'We pulled out all the stops, but with minimum response.'
Mrs Leverett said Lord Morley has been in touch with the committee to lend support to the event.
Next year's show, on August 11, will be called the Flower and Produce Show emphasising it is not just about flowers. The schedule will available earlier, with increased publicity.
