NEARLY 350 exhibits formed last Saturday's Hatherleigh and District Gardening Club's Summer Flower Show and over 150 people came along to enjoy the event.

Cup winners were: Gordon Reynolds (Autumn Challenge Cup for most points for flowers, vegetables and fruit and Cup for most vegetable points); Renee Searle (Homecraft Challenge Cup for most points for cookery); Sue Allain (Rose Bowl for most points for flower arranging); Paul Stafford (Cup for most points for flowers); Barbara Mercer (Cup for photography); Gemma Chapman (Children's Cup and Special Prize for most outstanding entry — novelty birthday cake decorated as hedgehog).

The Silver Tray for the best exhibit in the show was shared by Sue Allain for her flower arrangement in an unusual container and Gordon Reynolds for two enormous cabbages.

First and second prizes in the children's section went to Gemma Chapman, Eliza Squire, Jessica Squire, Alison Grindley, Nicola Grindley, Emily Winter and Ben Winter.
