BOSCASTLE Flood Relief Fund has received a tremendous boost from traders in the region who have sprung to their aid with collection boxes.

Donations from shoppers at Mackays? stores across the region have mounted up to a grand total of £2000 to help the beleaguered village, and staff have donated a further £300 worth of underwear via the Red Cross.

Tavistock Pannier Market has been offering its collection tins on behalf of Boscastle with deputy market manager Mike Souttar believing they have raised about £500 so far.

He said: ?We are collecting until Saturday, and hopefully will have a bit extra to send by then ? everyone is being very generous.?
