IT'S up and away this weekend when the Westcountry Balloon Fiesta gets off the ground.
The eagerly anticipated event promises to be better than ever before with the main balloon ascent featuring some 50 balloons at the Tavistock College site. On the Saturday night there is the added attraction of the spectacular balloon glow at 9pm.
The Westcountry Balloon Fiesta and Day at the Races is organised by Tavistock's Lions Club and Round Table.
The gates open at 3.30pm. As well as the balloon flights on Saturday and Sunday at 6.30pm there will also be many other attractions. These include music, a charity bazaar, games, trade stands and a licensed bar.
