'A WHOLE lot of fun'— that was the verdict of a number of audience members on the latest show produced by the Get Changed Theatre Company.

Last weekend, the company performed 'Flash Gordon' in Okehampton College's Octagon Theatre, to the delight of packed audiences.

The show explored the themes of friendship and feelings, following the adventures of hero Flash and his companions as they travelled through the empire of Mingo.

Christine Munkenbeck, secretary of the theatre company, said: 'We were thrilled with the number of people who came along. We had a full house on the Friday night and very nearly full on Saturday.

'Both performances went really well, and were really well received by warm and supportive audiences, who also gave us some great reviews after the show.'

The theatre company expressed thanks to the Okehampton Lions, who marshaled people at the performances and also donated £200 to the project.

Get Changed, founded in 1995, is an Okehampton-based charity working with adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems.

Performing arts are used to help people develop life skills and confidence, promote social inclusion, and empower people to realise their full potential.

The theatre company launched 'Friends of Get Changed' at the performance. Anybody who would like to help support this important local project can call Pippa Tarr on 01363 82535 or Christine Munkenbeck on 01837 52957.
