IT?S celebrations all round for members of the Tavistock and District Young Embroiderers next month when they mark their fifth birthday on Saturday, April 8. They are members of the Embroiderers? Guild which has an active branch in Tavistock and are aged between five and 18 years old. They will be celebrating with a birthday cake and some industrious stitching as they work on pieces for display at the South West Festival of the Embroiderers? Guild which will be held in Tavistock on July 8. The Young Embroiderers have been going for five years. Taught by the experienced embroiderers from the Tavistock branch, stitch is used to decorate fabrics to be used for bags, cushions, Christmas decorations, cards and pictures. Members have exhibited both locally and through the Embroiderers? Guild in other South West venues. The festival to be held in Tavistock on July 8 in Tavistock College marks the 25th anniversary of the Tavistock Branch and the Guild?s centenary. New members are always welcome.
