PAUL Bishop continued his 2002 motor racing success to finish the South West Spring Championship sixth out of 169 entrants in his Mitsubishi Evo 5.

Over ten races he competed in, he won seven and achieved five new record times.

The most memorable race was the last of the season at Castle Combe Race circuit where he did not expect to do well due to the high quality of the other competitors on their home track.

He not only won but broke the lap record by two seconds. He also received the Patchway Cup from Bristol Pegasus Motor Club for being the fastest saloon car on the day.

In the off season, Paul continues to run his Tavistock garage business, Bishop and Turnbull, while he deliberates over the coming 2004 race season.
